After a long wait EA has announced a release date for the highly anticipated game, Spore, for September 7, 2008. Spore is an open-ended sim game where you start as a single celled organism and evolve your species to the point of conquering the universe. The creator of spore Will Wright said, “We’re in our final stages of testing and polish with Spore, and the team at Maxis can’t wait to see the cosmos of content created by the community later this year.”

I was hoping to see Spore hit store shelves in the spring but I’m glad to see that they’re not rushing the game, making sure that it is perfect before its release.
